Creating a Lab Template

It is nice to create machine templates/backups, but what about an entire lab?  Can we capture snapshots of a full farm and re-provision them as a group?  Having looked at the available functions, it looks doable via a nontrivial PowerShell script, assuming someone writes it.  At a company function tonight, I already volunteered to script a TFS stack for Azure, so I will be half way there.
